Night Photography As The Key to Tomorrow’s Cities
One of the greatest things about living in a city is the city skyline, wonderful buildings and illuminating dancing lights. It is even more breathtaking at night, especially when photographed at its finest. Night photographs capture the real essence of the city. Not only does it shows the wonders of a place, but encapsulates the lifestyle of the people as well. A photo of the New York skyline, for instance, is not only a picture. It is also an evidence of the life of urban dwellers.

There are many different types of photograph subject and with each kind comes different purpose. Designgrapher.com states that architectural photography’s main purpose is to create a positive impact on potential real estate buyers.2 The picture of a building can be posted on social media and magazines and can attract business owners to rent in that building. In the same way, taking a photo of a city’s wondrous buildings and architecture can entice people to live in that city. This will allow for the continuous improvement of the area’s economy. In turn, other places will have to develop their resources to create architecture that are at par with the other area. It is a necessary process for the development of many more places in the world – a cycle if you will.
Photography can also be an evidence of how far we’ve come in designing cities. One design inspires another and soon enough we will have an entire city of amazing brilliance. It is a tangible affirmation of an astonishing step in the evolution of human structures – both in architecture and urbanism.
Just as much as an advertisement can raise awareness, photography can also create views. Most of the time, looking at photographs is one of the first things we learn about a particular object. We get excited to visit a park because of the great views it has based on a photograph we seen. Evidently, the connection between a photograph and a place’s development is a key aspect in the design process. Architecture influences art just as much as art influences architecture. That interdependence is the key to a future of city design innovation.
